”My daughters been fighting for her life since she was struck by a car while playing in our front yard with her brother. A speeding car in our neighborhood apparently lost control and ran onto our lawn, striking my baby before she, her, brother nor I had a chance to react. Shes been fighting over 2 weeks and her prognosis isn’t positive. She still has not yet regained full consciousness. We are asking anyone who can help us to please do so. The expenses are astronomical and we have a $2500.00 deductible to satisfy before our health insurance even begins to cover their portion. This unforeseen tragedy has affected us greatly. As a single father of an 11 y/o son and 5 y/o daughter I am doing all I know to do to help my baby get the treatment she needs. i have not been able to find their mother to inform her and ask her assistance as she cut off contact when i was awarded custody of our babies. Billing statements have already started to flood my mailbox and between those and the time I’ve missed at work to be by her side, our family us in crisis. I don’t know where else to turn. On Tuesday, 18-year-old Genele Laird was brutally assaulted by the Madison police. The video of her arrest had hundreds of thousands of views hours after it was posted on Facebook.
According to police Laird confronted an employee at the mall food court about her phone that had been stolen. She displayed a knife and made threats against the employee before mall security called police.
Luckily there are witnesses who did the right thing - they recorded what was happening. Ofc, the police said that she was resisting the arrest, but I can’t see it in the video!
In addition, after violently kicking, punching, and tasing her, cops put a bag over her head. WHAT THE HELL!
About 40 demonstrators protested Laird’s arrest Tuesday night at the Public Safety Building, displaying a sign that said: “Hands off black women.”
You definitely need the entire force to contain an 18 yr old girl. Fuck all those pigs. In America the police are more corrupt than the criminals.
